The Siamese cat is commonly believed to be from what is now called Thailand. In modern times the Siamese cat has become one of the most popular cat breeds in the world.
Pictured to the right is a traditional Thai Siamese cat. All Siamese cats have a cream color base coat with colored "points." Look at the picture to the right to see what I mean. Their faces, feet, tails, and ears are all colored while most of their body is cream colored.
All Siamese kittens are pure cream at birth but develop these colored "points" within the first few months of their life.
Siamese have almond-shaped, bright blue eyes and short, flat-lying coats.
Siamese breed cats are affectionate and intelligent cats and they are well known for being very social. They very much enjoy their time with people and they often bond very strongly to one person in particular.
They "meow" a lot in a loud low pitched voice. Some say that their voice sounds like the crying of a human baby.
They also tend to get along well with other cats but they are usually dominant in their relationships with cats of other breeds.
