Another great feature of being out "in the country" is how we can take our cats outside to play in nature without it being a 7 block walk to the park.
We still keep them on a leash when we take them out because we don't want them to run into the forest to get eaten by a wolf or something like that.

One of the things the cats definitely like about the new place is the fact that they have stairs to play on now. They enjoy running up and down the stairs and taking naps on the stairs as well.

Not much in the way of updates here recently... That's because we've been on the move. We moved from Brooklyn, NY down to the mountains of Virginia. So far Simon & Garfunkel seem to be loving it here.

BTW - this box was standing UP and the picture was taken from the top, Simon is laying down on his side. I wanted to clear that up as it kind of looks like a strange optical illusion if you think the box is laying down on the floor.

This is a photo I took the other day of Simon sleeping in the bookcase. We're in the midst of moving (from New York to Virginia) so we'd already taken the books and the shelves off of it. Simon saw this is a great opportunity to find a new place to take a nap.
It does seem as if finding new places to nap is a top priority in a house cat's life.

Those of you who have been reading this blog for awhile know that we got another cat a couple of months ago to go along with our original cat Simon. The new cat was a stray we found a few blocks from our house. At first meeting they did not get along at all and would fight constantly. But now it's been a couple of months and things have changed considerably:

He may have been celebrating the fact that this website turned one year old this month. We should have had a birthday party for it, but I forgot! Our first post was November 13, 2006... although the first real post (with pictures) wasn't until November 26.

Our cats Simon & Garfunkel are finally starting to get along. They had been fighting pretty much ever since we found Garfunkel on the street 4 weeks ago.
Just over the last few days they have started to become much more friendly towards each other. This is great as it was very frustrating that they were always fighting with each other. It's also great because now I can finally take pictures of them together! Here's some of the first photos of Simon & Garfunkel being friendly:

I saw in our stats today that we've been getting some visitors from a listing in a blog directory called Very Best Blogs. We are in the cat blogs directory of course!
Not only have we been included but we're a "featured blog" which is very cool because I looked over the site and it usually costs $299 to be considered for "featured blog" status. Well, I'm not complaining! Thanks Very Best Blogs!

Last night I was able to get Simon & Garfunkel in the same picture for the first time. It's not the best quality photo as I had to brighten it a lot to be able to see Garfunkel properly (it was in a dark hallway) but I wanted to include it anyway as I find it to be quite historical! Plus the strange lighting is fitting since it is Halloween:

Simon went on a road trip with us last week and we got some nice photos of him in the car. Unlike most cats he seems to actually enjoy being in the car during road trips. We don't have to keep him restrained or in a box or anything. He spent most of the time in the car just napping away.
Here are the photos of Simon from the road trip. Some we took out side of the car while we were in a parking lot and he was inside and some others we took while on the road!
I've got quite a few more pics of him on the road that I really like so I'll save the others for another day! I wouldn't want you to have Simon overload or anything.

I still have no pictures videos of Simon & Garfunkel together yet. They're not getting along very well so far. Simon is very aggressive towards Garfunkel. It's tough watching them be so mean to each other when they are so nice to us when they are one on one!
I'm considering buying this comfort zone spray for cats to see if I can calm them down while they are out together. Anyone use this stuff for this purpose (getting two cats to get along and get used to each other) and can let me know how it works?

We took Simon with us on a little trip and he stayed with us at the HOTEL (I may do a listing of pet friendly hotels at some point, good idea?)
