I was working in the yard and I felt like I was being watched, I looked up and saw that crazy orange face looking at me! He got up there fine, and he got down fine too. He is an expert tree climber.

Brave kitty! I'm only allowed outside under supervision (with my harness or stroller) so I am amazed at cats who wander freely outside!

Cecil came to me as a stray. Believe me, I know it's much safer for him indoors and I would prefer that he stayed there. I tried to make him an indoor only kitty but he would not tolerate it. If he does not have some outside time, he picks on my other cat, or destroys the house. I breathe a sigh of relief each night when he comes inside and sleeps on the bed.

i used to live "in the country" and our cats were always outside/inside cats... they wouldn't stand for being only inside either. it depends on what your cat is used to.

of course it is more dangerous for a cat to be outside... but you can make the argument it's more dangerous for people to be outside too :) i guess growing up "in the country" i sometimes feel that people are overly protective of their cats. understandable because you love them... but cats are not as fragile as some think.
