Remember you have till January 15th to get your submission in! Picture of your cat with mycatwearsclothes.com written (or typed as in Cecil's case) on a piece of paper/cardboard/tshirt/whatever in the same frame as your cat! No photoshop please! Only real pictures!

Take a picture of your cat with "mycatwearsclothes.com" written down
on a piece of paper or printed on a piece of paper or... well you get
the idea! Basically get the cat and this paper (or whatever it is) in
the same photo and send it in and you'll be entered to win a $25
prize. I will be taking a picture of Simon to give an example of
what I'm talking about - It'll be posted on the site tonight! I don't
mean just photoshopping in the website address or anything like that..
to be eligible it has to be a real picture. All of the eligible
submissions will be entered into the contest - I will be drawing the
winner from all of the submissions on January 15th! This will be a
*random* drawing. If there's only one entry then you win
automatically! If there's 10 entries then you have a 1 in 10 chance
of winning and so on. All of the entries will be shown on the site of
course! Please include the name of your cat in your submission. This
is just the first of these types of ideas - I want to make this site
very interactive so that we can have an idea for a certain type of cat
picture and then people actually take that picture and send it in!

Tigers are the distant relatives of our little house cats. The main difference between tigers and house cats being that a tiger could eat you if he wishes. I love cats and I find lions, tigers, and cheetahs to be some of the most fascinating impressive creatures in the world. I love to think that Simon is related to these beasts!

good idea to make a post about this adoption site as well. And I
agree! It definitly feels like part of the holiday spirit you know.
I know we can't all take on another cat but if you know someone who is

I'm starting a new promotion here at MyCatWearsClothes.com to try and get more people posting on the Cat Forum here! I think this cat forum could be a great place for cat lovers from all over the world to chat about all things cat (and anything you want really, there's a non cat section!) but I've been having a hard time getting enough active forum users to really get it going!

So I've decided to offer a $25 prize just for writing forum posts on the cat forum!

Here are the conditions and details:

1. Prize winner of $25 US Dollars will be chosen at random on February 1, 2007.

2. Spam and posts of 1 sentence or less will not be counted! Only real genuine contributions please! This forum is monitored by ME and all spam will be deleted.

3. The more posts you make the more chances you get to win! You must make atleast 6 posts to be eligible and then each post after that is another entry! It works like this. If you make 25 posts then you would get 20 prize entries (25-5 = 20) if you make 6 posts then you get 1 prize entry! (6-5=1)

4. Payment will be made by Paypal. It would be much easier for me to pay by paypal! But if you do not have a paypal account and you win the prize I can try and accomodate you by paying by personal check.

5. Winner will be chosen by random # out of all of the entries eligible!

6. The prize will be raised from $25 all the way up to $100 if there are 1000 *active* participants who have made atleast 6 posts by February 1! This is to encourage people to tell their friends and get more and more people involved! I want this to be the best and most active cat forum on the entire internet. One great way to make sure we get over 1000 participants by February 1 is to Digg! this entry and also add it to Netscape and Delicious - you can use the links at the bottom of this post to do this! It should really help get the word out!

Join the CAT FORUM today and start posting so you'll be eligible for the prize!

Simon has always loved drinking water out of a glass. He doesn't much care for drinking water out of his bowl, he'd much rather find a glass of water that you are drinking and take a sip of that! He'll even do this while you are holding the cup. Here's a couple of photos a younger Simon (taken last November I believe) investigating a glass of water.

This entry is about cat adoption! Many people out there are looking for a cat to adopt and I want to help let them know some of the best ways to go about doing that.

One our best contributers so far has been a woman named Rose who has sent in some wonderful pictures of her cat Cecil (earlier you saw Cecil in a sink!)

Rose volunteers for a non profit group called "Friends of the Attleboro Animal Shelter" which rescues stray cats and dogs and helps find them homes! They are located in Attleboro, MA.

Rose puts up pictures of the cats and dogs they rescue on the PETFINDER.COM website. This is a great website if you are searching for a cat to adopt. All you have to do is put in your zip code and you can search for cats available in your area!

Check out CatsPlay for some awesome christmas gifts for cats and also for cat lovers! They have a huge selection of cat goodies. It's pretty sweet! I'm thinking about getting Simon the cat DVD because I'm very curious to see what's on a DVD that's made just for a cat to watch. They say that it is specially made to gain and keep a cat's attention and you can play it on your DVD player while you are at work. This will keep your cat busy all day instead of getting bored and getting into trouble (in Simon's case this usually means breaking something.)

Also check Cat Furniture & Cat Toys for more cat gift ideas!

Big Ben

Flying through the air with the greatest of ease,
My brother catapulted his bowl of peas.
looking like meteors, round and green,
I watched them bounce off the window screen.
Then splatting on the counter, or jumping to the floor,
the survivors started heading for the door.
"Oh,no!", I said with a sense of doom,
"If Mom sees this, we'll get the broom"!
As if he heard, here came the cat.
Ben was his name , all big and fat.
He ate every pea, and cleaned the bowl too.
Best part of it is that Mom never knew!
Now every time we have food that we spite,
we simply don't eat it; we put it in flight!
Accross the room, again and again.
Then when we're done we give it to Ben.

I've always been a big fan of orange cats since I was a small lad. My first cat, or the first one I remember anyway, was a big ol' orange cat. Or maybe he wasn't that big, maybe I was just small? His name was Nezbit (named after some sort of orange soda that I don't think is made anymore?) Anyway I was reminded of ol' Nezbit when I saw this lovely picture that Laura sent in. A great photo of her orange kitten named JJ at an age of 4 months.

The following true story was sent to us by Susie to be posted here on the website. Enjoy!

Yesterday, Lexie had her birthday party. She invited the entire 1st grade. We had 35 children over for a swim party/Luau. It was a blast.

As you may know, Koshka, our cat, has been missing for over 6 weeks. We posted Missing Signs around the neighborhood, visited the Humane Society on several occasions and searched the rugged hills around our home. But to no avail. She had vanished.

Ron and I have always been amazed at the way Lexie seems to be able to communicate with our cats. They respond to her in ways that we can't comprehend. She was devastated when Koshka went missing but we never gave up hope. I told the kids that I felt that Koshka was alive but had "moved on" to a place where she could be happy. She was constantly hissing and growling at her kittens ever since they had became independent. Her motherly instinct had vanished and the two kittens that we kept were a source of annoyance to her.

We never held a Memorial Service because of our belief that she was still alive. But we didn't really expect to see her again, either. We all chose to hold on to the memory of her being alive and well with perhaps another family or even living in the wild.

Lexie's party started at 12:30 yesterday. The kids were arriving with big smiles and ready to party. At 12:30, we had the surprise of our lifetime. Ron was inside the house and I was in backyard welcoming families. Ron heard a kitty meowing. He thought it was Rollie, our big Siamese cry baby. He went to the kitchen door where the sound was coming from. And to his disbelief, Koshka was standing outside on the deck looking up at him as if to say, "Okay, it's 12:30 and I'm here for Lexie's party"!

Ron called Lexie and I into the house. He was standing there holding Koshka in his arms. She was purring loudly and nuzzling up against his chin. Lexie took Koshka in her arms, hugged and kissed her and said, "Koshka, you are the best birthday present I could ever have! Thank you, thank you, thank you"!

Since her return, she seems accepting of the two kittens. I haven't heard a single hiss or growl from any of them. Let's hope this new attitude lasts!

This was truly one of those once in a lifetime moments that I shall never forget. And because it was so special, I wanted to share it with you. Miracles do happen!
