This blog post isn't about cats (a very rare thing here at My Cat Wears Clothes) instead it's about search engines.

Bing is a new search engine (created by Microsoft) which I've actually been pretty impressed with so far. On the other hand I feel that Google's results are often way off target.

The best example of Bing outperforming Google is a search for "My Cat Wears Clothes" on Google vs. on Bing. On Google this website is nowhere to be found, even though it's obviously the most relevant site for that search term. On the other hand on Bing, it ranks at #2. In my opinion that's proof of Bing offering more relevant results than Google.

Google spends way too much of it's energy on "punishing" sites for various things rather than on giving the searcher what they want.

In case you don't know, Blogger (the system this blog uses) is owned by Google so I am talking out against my KING in a way.

But that's just the problem. They are so powerful that they feel they don't have to worry about people going to the competition for better results and that's why they have this attitude that they can punish relevant sites out of the search results and there's nothing anyone can do about it. But now I think people may start using Bing instead if they feel it gives them more relevant results.

Google: Get your act together! Stop spending all of your energy on "punishing" and start putting it towards giving the best results. That's what got you where you are in the first place.

Considering yesterday's untimely death of the legendary Michael Jackson, and since I'm already off the topic of cats today ... well... rest in peace MJ. Your music & your performances will be remembered for many years after your death.

Today Garfunkel (the cat) spent some time with Harriet (the hamster) outside. I kept close watch to make sure things didn't get out of hand. Check out these photos:

Finally another post here at MY CAT WEARS CLOTHES! Things have been very slow lately, I know. I'm sorry about that, but I've just been busy with other things!

But this site will remain here for as long as there's an internet. It's not going anywhere. So if you've sent in pictures or are planning on sending more pictures, I will eventually get to them and put them up. Unfortunately there will probably be more of these these long lags between posts just because I'm so busy.

Unless of course someone wants to take over posting pictures for me... that would be great! All you need are some basic blogging skills (this site uses the blogger format) and a great love for cats (also you need to be able to edit pictures so that they can fit in the blog properly.) This is actually the 600th post since the blog got started way back in 2006 and I think it's a pretty great picture this time: Callie The Cat Licking A Banana! Callie was first introduced on March 11th (the last time a post was made!) I was sent a lot of pictures of Callie so you'll be seeing more of her in the future.
